About Us
Advocating for NYC Students and Families
We're a team of educators, legal experts, and student advocates fighting to make sure children in New York City receive the services they're entitled to. Many on our team are lifelong New Yorkers, and we're passionate about helping our neighbors navigate a system that too often fails the families who need it most.
To date, we’ve helped thousands of students get the high-quality educational services they deserve at zero cost to their families. See if we can help your student by filling out the form below.
How We Help You
We work with families to understand where services are lacking, build strong cases, and advocate for meaningful outcomes, whether through resolution or impartial hearings. We regularly assist with:
Failure to provide mandated services like speech therapy, occupational therapy, or paraprofessional support
Inappropriate classroom placements, including lack of recommended programs
Delays or failures in conducting evaluations
Requests for Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs)
Compensatory education for missed or inadequate services
Tuition reimbursement for appropriate private school placements
We know this process can feel overwhelming.
Many of the families we work with are dealing with significant delays, lack of communication, or services that simply aren't being implemented. Our role is to guide you through it, explain your options clearly, and pursue the support your child needs to make real progress.
We're committed to practical, results-driven advocacy and to making this process as accessible as possible.
FAQs
-
We have extensive experience advocating for students with IEPs, including case development, review of educational records, and representing parents in impartial hearings to address failures to implement mandated services.
-
No. A student must be evaluated and found eligible for an IEP. Eligibility is based on whether the student has a qualifying disability and needs special education services to make progress in school. We ONLY work with students who have existing IEPs and who are not current receiving mandated services or who did not receive services in the past.
-
We'll ask about your child's current IEP, the services they're supposed to be receiving, and what's not working. From there, we'll let you know whether we think there's a case and walk you through what the next steps would look like.
-
That’s right. If your child has an existing IEP and has not received the services they’re entitled to, we represent families at no cost. Our fees are not paid by families.
-
No. We are not a law firm. When legal representation is needed, we refer families to trusted law firms that specialize in special education cases. Our role is to advocate for your child, identify gaps in services, and help build a strong case on your family's behalf.

To date, we've helped thousands of students in New York City secure the educational services they were legally entitled to. Every case is different, but our goal is always the same: making sure your child gets the support they need to make real progress.
-
Our work focuses on cases where an IEP is already in place but isn't being properly implemented. If your child doesn't have an IEP yet, we may be able to point you in the right direction to help you get the process started.

At this time, we serve only families residing in New York City whose child has an IEP from the NYC Department of Education.
